I have always been entranced by flowers— their wild, seductive color palettes, textures, and earthy joyful effect on my mood.

Flowers are an ethereal and somewhat mysterious ingredient in beauty and fragrance, as well as in food. As Elise Taylor wrote in Vogue,“flowers aren’t essential, but they’re emotional.”

I am drawn to the emotional in my personal work.

My approach while shooting this project was to pay attention to feeling something in response to the footage.

Discovering sensory moments is my guiding principle as a director and photographer.

So alongside my friend and food stylist Nathan Carrabba, we set out to capture the poetry and sensuality of flowers and fragrance.

For this test, we used our new motion control capabilities... delicately, less mechanically, in order to keep the viewer in the scene.
